What is your best advice you ever gave to someone for career progression?

You are in charge of your own career.  

The best best advice I ever gave was if you really want then go after it. If you want it then do what it takes to stand above your peers. 

Bloom where you are planted and make your boss and unit miss you. That means doing your job and taking care of your people. Also remember to humbly serve where you are told to go, alot of progression is about timing and luck, but your attitude and effort are the things you control.
