Going to MEPS next week to transfer to Active Duty. All I'm doing is signing my contract. If I get orders that day, what is the typical time allotted for the move? The Army will be moving my HHG but I also have a family I need to move too. Any information and advice would be greatly appreciated.

There's a lot of factors involved, the first being if you end up having to go any training. You'll get orders to report on a certain day and it will be on you to arrange their travel as you see fit.

It would depend on where you get stationed. Have you already been to boot camp?

Yes Sir. I was in the Marine Corps for five years, switched to the Army Reserves for a year, and now I'm going back to AD.

It depends on the duty station. An OCONUS move will be challenging because the Army will not move your dependents until they are command sponsored. Any CONUS move, you will be responsible for the movement of your family, although, the Army will move your HHG
