What are the requirements for a DA 705 to be counted as a record score?

HT/WT and APFT are two entirely separate programs. Yes, they go hand in hand, but they are separate. It is HIGHLY encouraged/stressed that Soldiers NOT do HT/WT the same day as an APFT to ensure Soldiers don't starve themselves and risk failing the APFT. This is why some units do it 7 days pre or post. I've been in some units where it was 30 days post. You checked your ARB and saw your APFT was marked as FAIL. What does the 705 state? If the two conflict, then you have a case to rebut. Clearing your unit really doesn't mean much since you were still on their books (technically) and responsibility until the moment you signed out. In order for it to be counted as a RECORD....it should state RECORD on the 705. If it isn't marked RECORD....then it isn't a RECORD. I would recommend you get with your new Training NCO and see what your status is in DTMS in regards to APFT, FLAG, HT/WT, etc.. I would also recommend that you speak with your 1 shop to see if there is a FLAG in the system. If there isn't, then I would not stress at all....especially if your 705 is showing PASS scores.

Basically, it is going to boil down to a HE SAID/SHE SAID case but as long as you have evidence in hand (the 705) stating you passed, and there is no FLAG in the system....then don't sweat the small shit.

The AR you want is AR 600-9. Basically no, they do not HAVE to height and weight you at the time you take your APFT. They have up to 7 days from the date of the APFT to do so.

You failed a record APFT. YOur new Unit should test you upon gaining but right now you show a failure and can be flagged. It is valid.

And are looking an administrate justification to invalidate the record

May I suggest you research the army values you are expected to uphold.

I think you will find they conflict with your request.

I would respect and support a new SM in my unit who came to me and said “ yes 1sg , I screwed the pooch and failed my last APFT, give me 30 days and I will show you it was a mistake I learned from not a normal thing
VS an SM attempting to get over on a personal failure via an administrative error.

To each his own, do what works for you.

If you try, never mind succeed at getting that APFT invalidated you will have marked your self to your leadership forever more as one who lacks personal responsible. So when that day comes you need your leadership to believe you on just your word that

The roll over was not your fault
The missing weapon was in the rack last time you saw it
The drugs in your room are not yours
You did not steal the missing raffle ticket cash that was in the jar

Your leadership will remember you refused to take responsibility for a simple thing before why should we believe him now?
