I leave for Recrutiing school Oct 28th , and have a memorandum from my commander stating I am leaving and have 10 days to clear when I get back. Then I report to my new duty station as usual. Is that memorandum succient enough , they asked for orders but I'm thinking the orders will say TCS? And I wont get my official til I graduate. Any feedback is appreciated!

You have assignment instructions to recruiting school. If you don't have orders in hand it is because you failed to attend your levy brief. Your orders will say you are PCSing to Fort Knox with the dates of your training as TDY Enroute.
Also, yes you have 10 days to clear, but your report date won't be for 30-60 days after your graduation date. That's plenty of time to break your lease.

MSG (Join to see) this is the way the orders process works for recruiting coming from conus.
Soldier receives assignment instructions with report to Fort Knox, Recruiting School TDY enroute in the assignment instructions, report date approximately 60 days following graduation of Recruiting School. Upon their new assignments they receive a new, or amended, set of orders to their new Duty station. School is attended TDY enroute, however because you have to return to home station before getting your new orders the school is paid through DTS using mtsa funds as you would for a TDY and return School.

SGT Javier Silva
MSG (Join to see) I think you're trying to tell a career counselor (SFC (Join to see)), who deals with how orders work on a daily basis, how orders work.

SGT Javier Silva no, and as a career counselor he does not deal with orders on a daily basis.he writes contracts. Unless he is in the G1. But I cut orders on a daily basis, and I just went through the process myself. But what do I know. The recruiting and retention college no longer issues the orders how he describes. Because too many people were failing out. And they don't have an assignment until the last week of school. They go back to home station, out process and then proceed to their assignment. That's how my orders worked.

Take your orders and the memorandum and see what the landlord says; go to JAG if he gives you a problem.

There is nothing automatic because you are in service. In almost all cases for deployment, yes. Bottom line unless it is in the lease agreement or they were obtained through the local housing office (even this is not guaranteed). Look at your lease and contact the housing office. Thank you for your service.
