Are you finding any unit discrepancies on RallyPoint?

For example, under Army, I Corps, 7th ID, 16th CAB, one of the units listed is 4-6 ACS. That was my last unit on active duty, and unfortunately that unit deactivated last year. All of the OH-58D (Kiowa Warrior) units are deactivating in turn. I may know Army aviation, but I'm a babe in the woods as to what submarine is in what sub group, etc. If you come across any discrepancies, please post them here so they can be researched. If you find any "canvas covers" (unit pictures) that are wrong, please do the same. Arigatou Gozaimasu. Uncle Mark-san.

Hi Mark -
In light of the ever-changing military (budgets, re-engineering the structure, downsizing, consolidating, etc. etc.), the disappearance of units has been a fact of military life since The Governor's Guards of Connecticut militia (1771), and change is not about to end in 2015.
What RallyPoint will need to do over time is create a retrospective database that connects current units to their predecessors - kind of like an "Ancestry.com" for US military units.
Now THAT would be interesting to see all mapped out some day.

THAT would be awesome! Do me a favor and post that to this link (make a change to rallypoint) so the owners can find it.

Remember, Uncle Mark, there's NO WAY your typical squid can remember anything other than...
Hi. My name is Petty Officer Schmo. I'm stationed on the USS Uh... Err... Yeah... BOB! Yeah! That's it! The USS "Bob"...
That's why we put our command in bold letters on our hats...

A couple of mine are out; Wiesbaden Germany 205th MI BDE (B Co, 302nd MI BN) - deactivated in 2006 then reflagged for awhile under 66th MI GRP...and Fort Lewis (pre JBLM) 25th ID 1st BDE (NOT BCT) Charlie Battery 2nd BN 8th FA in 1998 (they are now in Alaska). They have my other artillery units from back in the day, though first tour in Germany I was never in a BCT and my unit was at Ledward Barracks (was 1st ID in 1996-1997).

Ahh good times...I forget if they were there in '96-were they 1st ID or 3rd ID? I know before 1st HQ went to Germany it was all 3rd ID at Ledward (at least from what I remember)
