Will Snowden get a fair trial or make a deal?

Our local news compromises our ability to collect information every time they report on how we nabbed somebody. For example, their reporting that we monitored the cell phone communications of Al Qaeda operatives caused them to resort to using couriers and that dried up one means of collecting that we previously enjoyed.

Our HUMINT is underfunded and lacking. The doctor that helped us get UBL is still sitting in jail. WHY?!! Pakistan is not a trustworthy ally. What does more to hinder our national security? Propping up hostile governments, releasing Al Qaeda operatives and trading them for an Army deserter, and trying to make deals with Iran? ??? Or doing what Snowden did?

I'm not saying that Snowden was great on his execution, but all other things equal, I don't put him in league with Walker, Manning, etc. who intentionally and for their own personal gain and vindictiveness sold out our country. Snowden didn't do this for his own personal gain. I believe his intent was more altruistic. I agree that his execution was bad. I think he did what he believed to be the best option to expose the abuses of our gov't. I think he feels betrayed by his country. I don't think he sees himself as a treasonous traitor but rather a patriot who alerted US citizens to the way their gov't was violating their constitutional rights. FWIW.

1LT Sandy Annala, We can't even get to the bottom of what happened at Benghazi, and for that matter we STILL have an unvetted, unqualified man squatting in the Oval Office. Every challenge to his eligibility has been shot down in the courts by justices with ties to the Obama Administration. You have the fox in the hen house. Now tell me, do you think reporting to these federal agencies is going to fix things?

Capt Jeff S.. I tend to believe nothing will make any difference . . . but, as I said, if I felt so strongly I would report it. But, I'm not so certain anything needs to be fixed . . . forbidding our government agencies to conduct surveillance will hardly do anything re other individual, private and foreign government organization intrusions.

I understand that technology makes that possible. But at the same time, building datacenters out West with Zetabytes of storage capacity only facilitates that intrusion. If we were to make laws prohibiting the collection of information on U.S. citizens without warrant and subject that to oversight, it would go a long way toward protecting our constitutional right to privacy and protection against illegal search and seizure. < By the gov't We The People elect and support with our tax dollars to serve OUR interest. Clearly it isn't doing that.
