Hello all,
I have just completed BCT and I am waiting to finish senior year. During my time training and during drill weekends, I have seem to highly enjoyed it. I am finding out how I can go to Active Duty because it seems more suitable for me than one weekend a month. I am a 68W and I have heard that it is easier to try to get a conditional release now before completing AIT (Prior Service Rules). Any help is highly appreciated, thanks!

I doubt your request will fly, but what you need to do is get a with an Active Duty Recruiter, fill out a DA Form 368 Conditional Release Form and submit it thru your Chain of Command. After submission, it becomes a waiting game....could take a few to several months. Also, your Commanders are under no obligation to grant your request for release to Active Duty.

Slow down there high speed. We all feel invincible right outa basic, but that’s just not gonna happen. Your states spent thousands of dollars to send you to training, there gonna get there money’s worth outa you. Do your contract with the NG THEN see what you wana do.

Go talk to a active duty Reuters it is no problem to ask them.
Now you must understand that the grass all most always looks greener on the other side.
Simply put it might be good thing to do at this point.
I do not mean to be a dick, But at this point you relay do not know how things work.
Young and do not have the life experience yet. I know I sure did not when it was me way back then.
This is what I would do if I was in your shoes.
Wait until you are done with school. Look at your life then think real hard about if you still want to go.
Then go back to the active Reuters Talk to the one's that talk to you. They work on a point systems of how meany people they get to M.E.P.S. and Enlist. If they help you, you help them.
On the N.G. side it is just a simple form and letter stating why you are asking for your release to go active. This my take a few weeks to get.
good luck and think about it.
