Looks like I might be heading to DLI for Russian in the next six months or so. Trying to understand the impact to our family finances and I'm getting conflicting information. The conflict seems to come from "This is a PCS move and your family will be moved with you. You will receive BAH for Monterey and will need to find a place to live" and "Your family will have the option of moving with you, or they may remain at your home of record. You will receive BAH for your HOR and can stay in the barracks if they choose not to relocate". Which is true?

You can either relocate them to the Monterey area or become a geo-bachelor.

You have the choice.

Thank you! I'll need to look into the geo-bachelor term and get things sorted. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to relocate the family, sell/rent out the house, and deal with all that when we move back.

SSG (Join to see) - Got to remember not everyone is NG/USAR- because of the lentgh of the course AD considers it a PCS move with assignment to follow after the course.

SGM Bill Frazer - I understand that not everyone is in my situation. I'm trying to plan and determine what next course of action should be? Is it a PCS move for USAR, like it is AD, or is it more like when I go to a school (NCOES or MOS-T) where I get BAH for my HOR.
