SPC (Join to see) SPC Cody Parker I went through the process, though mine was considerably more difficult than what you'll face. My RE3 was for medical discharge. Find a bulldog of a recruiter that knows what steps are needed at what time, as sets up the dominoes to fall exactly as they need to. It took me 3 recruiters before I found mine at Whiteman.
It is MUCH easier to get the waiver for the RE-3 code than it is to get it changed to a code that allows re-enlistment/commission.

SSgt (Join to see) Yessir I have a friend who had the same situation as you that had a small disability rating and he had said he tried to go back in and it was very difficult because he had to give up all of it etc long story short he decided not to go, I am keeping my same MOS and everything and I don’t have any medical issues it was just the PT test so I’m hoping for a smooth process!

SPC (Join to see) - You should be good. The only reason they provided for not being able to go back Security Forces was that I'm now 41 and have lost a bit of hearing. I'm the oldest E-3 EVER!!!! LOL

SPC (Join to see) - I'm not upset. Got Geospatial Intel. So far it looks pretty interesting to me. The wait to get to tech school, not so much...LOL.
Same here. I'm in until either they say I can't be in any more, or my body does.

RE-3 because I screwed around on a pt test 2 weeks before ETS. Currently looking to go back in as an officer. Navy had already granted me the waiver, Army has also, conditional on passing a new APFT prior to meps, had absolutely no issues

Ok hey thanks a lot man that really eases my mind I appreciate the response! That’s exactly what they told me I just have to be back to my weight obviously but also pass a PT test with the recruiter and they said I should be good! Thanks a lot man, The recruiter said it will basically take no time for the waiver to get approved once they submit for it, Did yours take some time or was pretty immediate?

From the Navy not at all, they didn’t even require the test, just a personal statement that said I knew I’d been an idiot.
Haven’t actually done the test for the army yet, focusing on finishing my degree first (3 months left)

SPC Cody Parker yeah one recruiting station told me I wouldn’t even need to take a PT test but the one I decided to work with wants one just to be safe I’m sure

It can be done and I've seen it done successfully for the Navy. You must be diligent, jump through all hoops presented, and be good at waiting it out. Give it a try is my advice.
