Does anyone know what is the best way to get an assignment at JCSE?

I know most of you will say contact branch. If so, please advise me on what is the best way that I can approach them. I'm in a situation right now where I am basically a one man shop and don't have many people around me that can provide me with insight. I am looking into joining JCSE; mainly because of the training/learning opportunities, and of course, the location.
I appreciate any insight that you can provide. Thank you.

On your dream sheet, put down "anywhere but JCSE." The folks at assignments won't be able to resist.

That's funny sir. I didn't know they still have dream sheets. Seems like everything I put down on mine, they stationed me further away from it.

Sir,
That actually worked out for me for my first assignment in the Army, where I put down "Hawaii" when they gave us the "dream sheet" in BCT. Best assignment that I've had so far. Let's see if I get lucky again.

As a E5 branch is not going to talk to you. When I was a CW2 branch did not talk to me. Once I made CW3 they did. They knew I would retire on them. It is who you know SGT. Connect with CW4 Tommie Mortimer who is on rally point. Tommie used to work for me when I was the DOL at Schinnen the Netherlands. He now works for Boeing. Mention my name.

Write a letter to the CSM of JCSE. Include a resume, a paragraph or two why you want JCSE, and why JCSE wants you. I spent 5 years in JCSE, along time ago. There is none better.
