My friend who went into the Navy told me that the schools are basically designed for you to pass them?

All military Academic Schools are designed to have you pass IF you actually read the syllabus AND read the pages it tells you to read, AND answer the sample questions. I learned that early and ended up at the top or near the top in all my classes. It helps if you can read fairly fast.
The Military is very good at reducing the subject to the stuff you need to do your job and teaching you how to use reference books, or programs now days.

In my class we had about a 60% fail rate (2009) with about 1/2 of all failures happening in the TCP/IP class, so a bit of focus on subnetting and practicing binary math will go a long way toward you being successful.

In fact, studying in AIT schools is easier than in regular colleges. When I was writing a paper with https://au.edubirdie.com/case-study-help I found info that AIT students have a huge successful graduate percentage. But as you know they are not designed for high academic achievements.
