My wife and I recently got married 9 August 2019 while she was on midtour leave. She is stationed in Korea and I am stationed at Fort Campbell. She is supposed to PCS from Korea in about a month and a half. She is obviously authorized 10 days of Permissive TDY because she is PCSing and of course, married. My question is, would I be able to and am I authorized to take the 10 days of PTDY at the same time with her even though I am already on station and have been for about 2 months now? I am very familiar with the area around Fort Campbell and would definitely be helpful to us in finding a place if I was on PTDY with her; as opposed to her trying to find a place on her own while I'm at work. Please provide a regulation that I can reference.

Yes, but it's up to your Commander (O-5 or above). I'd allow it under these circumstances, as long as it doesn't impact any major training event or deployment. The regulation that covers PTDY is AR 600-8-10, Section XVI ("Permissive Temporary Duty").

Your best chance is to go on reagular leave. Although, asking for some time to your leadership always work; remember that they have been in your shoes!

My battalion commander made 3 star. If I said I need a week off off the books no problem
