These Peshmerga soldiers have defended the Kurds since Saddam Hussein’s brutal rule. Now they are fighting the so-called Islamic State. With all of the recent discussion here on RP about the future of women in Ranger School, Combat Arms MOSs, and Special Forces, what lessons can we glean from these women who have been preparing for combat for the past 25 years?

What the writer is talking about here in the posted article, is a segregated all female unit, not assigned to front line/combat missions. We had this in the U.S. Army up until the 70s. It was called the Woman's Army Corps. It was a concept that certainly worked well, and I'm quite sure the sexual harassment and assault statistics were much lower then, as well!
