If DHS is not funded then around 200,000 people would have to work without getting paid - including about 40,000 active duty Coast Guard personnel. (Reservists apparently wouldn't drill and wouldn't get paid.)
What do you think about Congress using the Coast Guard (DHS) as a political lever? What would an appropriate response or message to Congress and the public be from the other branches if DHS is left unfunded?
