My company is currently deployed and there are 5 soldiers who's spouses will be having children while we are in theater. AD2019-05 states a covered member who is operationally deployed will defer the 21 days of no chargeable leave until after the deployment. Would this give these soldiers the opportunity to have their orders amended at the end of the deployment to give them the 21 days of non chargeable leave and then take the accrued leave after those 21 days? I may be interpreting this completely wrong as well!

I am hoping someone has some experience with this because as we know, a specialist's interpretation of this is different then the way legal interprets it.

Thanks in advance for any input you guys may have!

All i know about is active duty. As a SSG at fort carson where my son was born i was given as much time as I needed. Half days or full days after we took my son home from the hospital
