So I have been Military Police for almost 7 Years now. My battalion held a Spur Ride in 2017 where I earned my silver Spurs. So my question would be, am I authorized to wear said Spurs at formal dining ins. I ask because I am currently attending ALC and just wanted to find out if I can wear them to our dining in? I ask because I cant seem to find any regulation or documentation about who and when can spurs be worn other than CAV units. Thank you and any references would be greatly appreciated. Note to be added, Ive never been attached to a CAV unit.

You're pretty much only going to wear Stetsons and Spurs while assigned to CAV units during CAV functions. Outside of those exceptions, they are unauthorized items and can't be worn.

Speaking of wearing spurs on airplanes: once I wore my spurs to a formal diner & dance. While dancing, I almost tripping a lady by catching her heel with my spur, I took them off and never did that again.

In regards to wearing your Spurs to the Dining In at ALC, your best bet is to just ask the Cadre. They may well be lenient in this. At my SLC, there was a guy who wore his Stetson and Spurs during graduation.
