I am pretty sure you can only have your current qualification badge on the ERB not former ones but it definitely goes under Awards and Decorations. I have mine in section VIII of the brief.

It is listed as MQB(Marksmanship Qualification Badge) the level (ie-Expert) - type of weapon (Rifle, Carbine, or Pistol)

so it looks like this for expert in section VIII MQBE-R

I hope this helps you as well @SGT Leland L.

Only your current weapon qualification will be listed on your ERB. You are no longer qualified on a weapon if you haven't shot that weapon in over a year.

Previous qualifications will reflect in your previous duty positions i.e if you were a M249 SAW gunner for a year, the board or reviewer would assume you were qualified on that weapon since you held the position. Did that make sense?

This is why I am glad I am an officer now. I never have to worry about those things again. I question why one would want to wear a marksmanship that is over two years old? I understand that it can show diversity in training but if you are no longer qualified on it it should be in your qualifications? It is an annual thing. I qualified with a M9 when I was a private in Basic training. I was told to take it off when I got to my unit due to the fact that I was a rifleman.

As an officer we don't wear them anymore. Nothing says we can't but it just accepted that you don't. I can't really ever recall adding my weapons qual to my ERB or ORB. It would just change way too much to keep it keep it up to date.

At the end of the day I don't think someone is going to look at my ORB and say "Wow, this guy is qualified with a Mk19 or M1 two years ago. He must be really squared away. We should promote him right away." I would let my other schools and training speak for itself. Just my opinion. I would really question it on an ERB if I saw it to be honest.

SGT Leland L. Yes. A weapons qualification is not the same as a skills badge such as airborne or pathfinder. That is just the way it is.

8–47. U.S. Army Basic Marksmanship Qualification Badges a. A basic marksmanship qualification badge is awarded to indicate the degree in which an individual, military or civilian, has qualified in a prescribed record course and an appropriate bar is furnished to denote each weapon with which he or she qualified.

11-c. AC table of distribution and allowances (TDA) units with personnel assigned individual weapons will qualify semi-annually.

My take on this if that you are required to qualify every six months. If you have not you are not longer qualified with that weapon system. Hence, you can't deploy our do many other things with that. If you let this time lapse you are past your required time. So you would no longer be qualified. Qualifications don't last forever.

This is why I can't wear my Pistol Qualification from 2000.

SGT Leland L. I see what you re saying but parachutist wings are given with orders. I would agree with you on this with relation to the drivers badge. I just see that weapons qualification as a current reflection of your weapon qualification status. That is why it drops off automatically on your ERB. I do this this would make a good question for the community.
