The Seabee motto says it all: “With Willing Hearts and Skillful Hands, the Difficult We Do at Once, the Impossible Takes a Bit Longer.” From the construction and defense of Henderson Field on Guadalcanal to the Normandy Invasion. Seabees participated in every major amphibious assault in World War II. They quickly earned a reputation for exceptional creativity. If materials weren’t available, the Seabees used whatever they could to get the job done. I've seen Seabees running convoys in Fallujah, repairing airstrips at Al Asad, and repairing docks in Kuwait. Please share your stories with the community regarding these "MacGyvers" of battle.

I have had a lot of direct interaction with the Seabees . . . many may be surprised to learn that there are Seabees assigned to our major embassies and consulates overseas!

Well then, I just stumbled upon this, I've been on 1 deployment while assigned to ACB2(Iraq), and 3 deployments while assigned to NMCB 74 (Afghan, Ethiopia, Diego Garcia), with that said there are alot of things I have been apart of that influenced the battlefield indirectly, While deployed to Iraq, I helped build the Ammo Depot, post office and other essential buildings on the FOB, and was part of a 5 man crew that went out and maintained Checkpoint camps manned by the Georgian Army to ensure that they were able to have electricity, and running water to make living in the desert a little easier so they can complete their mission. (though they were the worst, they like to take things apart and create EXTREME electrical and fire hazards), those are just a few of the things while deployed to Iraq I could on and on but you will know if you've ever known or know a Seabee we like to walk softly and carry a big stick or hammer.
