Im switching from marines to the army. When do i get new uniforms and whats the switch like?

Can't answer the uniform question, and when it comes to transition from branch to branch I can't speak to that from personal experience, but I knew a few Marines who went Army/Army Reserve. Be ready for a culture shock; if you go to a combat arms MOS, though it might be an easier transition as combat arms tend to be oriented to a more disciplined existence. Experiences vary however. Im going from infantry to a non infantry mos. Is the army undisciplined outside of the infantry?

Sgt (Join to see) - I would not use the term "undisciplined" as a general descriptive for the Army; certainly not for Active Duty. I would say on Active Duty, there is a base level of disciplined professionalism regardless of MOS that IS expected and is shown, but combat MOSs--Infantry in particular--require higher levels of discipline.
These are generalities of course; so while they may be good betting odds, I'm not giving you Gospel here. It is entirely possible you'll have a chain of command that is very hard-core, dress-right-dress and all kinds of Super-Hooah. That being the case, I suspect, as a Marine, you'll appreciate that.
For me, going from AD Infantry to Reserve truck driving, it was like a whole different military branch that happened to be wearing the same uniform I did. The disciple level was VASTLY different and took a little while to adapt to...but then again, that was Reserves.

Did the same thing recently. You will go to AIT as an MOS-T and be issued uniforms there. If you retain your MOS you will get them at your first unit.
As for the transition over it's really how you make it. Just remember it's a different atmosphere and you'll definitely have to adjust your language. There are pros and cons in both branches. Just try to embrace the Army values and learn everything you can about it. I've seen many Marines come over and bad mouth it or be stuck in the Marine elitist mentality, if you have it you'll have to set it aside in order to be successful.

The language is definitely the hardest part ^^ I still slip up a lot, the culture is definitely different.

SSG (Join to see) so how different would you say? And language being constant cursing and crude humor? Im in a weapons plt so its bad lol
