I am going to Korea in February and I still haven't gotten a Sponsor yet even though I have done my section on the 5434 but still waiting for someone to fill out section 3. Also, I am in a very small MOS and pretty much know which Company I go to at each base and was wondering for those of you who have PCS'd to Korea if your 5434 said 8th Personnel Command or something different. I got in contact with the unit where I thought I was going to and they don't have me on their inbound list yet. It's a unit in 2ID in Camp Humphreys.

I never had any luck with sponsors. I know what they are supposed to do they need someone making sure they accomplish the assignment that they were giving. If it an enlisted soldiers them their 1st Sergeants should be on this.

SFC (Join to see) also with the 8th pers command part, thats just the in processing station at humphreys. You will spend a week there in processing and then get chopped off to your unit. As sokn as your sponsor fills out their part on the 5434, you will know the unit you are slated for.

As a GS 12 I sponsored a LTC coming to to command Luxembourg. Pete Martucci. LTC Bob Cox knew, I knew the BENELUX. Pulled some tricks on bob. On the turn over of his TA 50 to Pete I called CIF. I told rob the CIF manager that when Bob and Pete showed up to sign over the field gear to Pete, tell LTC Cox he is not a big enough guy and needs his brigade commanders approval. I told rob when his face starts getting red and he starts calling you partner call me on DSN. So he does and he hands the phone to Cox. I say "GOT YA"
