Staff Duty. I have staff duty tomorrow.. What should I bring?

Bring what ever you can to keep yourself away without annoying your Staff Duty NCO.

You should know the NCO that will be the Staff Duty NCO for the day with you. I would be asking them what they recommend, and specifically what they forbid. A book should not be a problem, but I've known NCO's who do not allow their runners to bring anything with them that is not work or educational in nature. As in, if the runner was not working on correspondence courses or SD1 then they were not to bring a computer, or if it wasn't a field manual or some other official Army document they didn't need to be reading it. Most NCO's aren't that strict, but you never know and that's why you should ask. Also, expect to be awake for 24+ hours so if you do not live in the barracks I would highly recommend you arrange a way to not drive yourself home afterwords.
