What months cutoff scores will my promotion be based off of?

Hopefully this will be a simple question with a simple answer. I juts passed the SSG promotion board yesterday (6/27) and received my "P" status I was prior service so this was my first board and admittedly I don't have an overly firm grasp on the concept of promotion points and promotable status and the like . My question is, will my promotion be determined by the cutoff scores for the month of July even though points and the "By Name List" is already out. Or will I have to wait and see what the points for AUG will be. Points have been maxed out in my MOS for a very long time and just recently dropped down so of course everyone is paranoid (myself included) that they could shoot back up ant any time. Thank you in advance for the assistance.

Cut off scores are based on the Army's need to fill positions in a particular MOS. Some MOS alway have high cutoff scores because someone has to either ETS, retires or dies before there is a allocation. You have to know your points and wait for the cutoff scores to be released.

Thank you for the timely response. I do understand the concept of how the army promotion point system works and how they determine the cutoff scores. my specific question is will my promotion/non-promotion based of the points for July if I received my promotable status towards the end of June? or will I have to wait and see what the cutoff scores for AUG are as I seem to have missed the 01 July promotion date?

FYI, if you haven’t gone to ALC yet, you won’t make the by-name-list because you won’t be fully qualified. SGT (Join to see)
