Soldiers using IPERMS have no easy and intuitive way to audit their paperwork on file without opening every document. IPERMS should implement a standardized naming convention for all uploaded files so that a document can more easily be identified without viewing all files. Supposedly when IPPS-A is fully fielded we will see specific naming conventions for awards in iPERMS. An AAM will be filed as an AAM, ARCOM as ARCOM, etc. We will be able to do this because it will be sent directly to iPERMS in an automated fashion with enough fidelity in the data to correctly name the document. Training/course completions will be a little harder to do and we may or may not be able to get there right away. In the "How To" guide for the RRT, there is a recommendation for S1s to put a comment next to the document during the record review process that essentially tells the user what the document is. So if an Award Doc is an AAM, the comment could read "AAM, 2nd award." These comments are retained from review to review so they are more easily identified during the next review. This is all great... but what about right now? Does anyone have solutions for today?

Why not just use what you just said for today, SFC(P) (Join to see)?

I also realize that that will probably not happen without changing the entire system over to the naming convention, which could take years for the number documents that would need to be converted.
