Just for discussion: I have heard comments that WWIII may be on the horizon (well, I mean, this discussion has probably been going on for some time, right?) & that it will be in the Middle East/Russia area.

Never mind the impending World War. Lets get ready for the next Civil War.

I think we are more likely to see an escalation of Cold War than WW3. The availability of nuclear weapons is a very effective deterrent that would likely prevent mass escalation. Most likely you will see economic warfare and small scale combat via third party countries similar to Vietnam and even somewhat in Afghanistan with the Chinese supplying the Taliban.

personally, i'm wondering where the 'radicals' are now getting their weapons. i'm sure they are filtering in through agents such as former russian states, iran, china, etc.
i think one of the main fears is that one of these radical elements gets ahold of a small nuclear device & detonates it. we know they are 'experts' at brain-washing & could probably get a suicide bomber to detonate the thing.

SSgt (Join to see) -A lot of these come from Soviet Bloc nations. The technology is SO readily available,
I also think that with regards to ISIS, I don't know that I'm convinced that they'd pull the "nuke lever" The amount of hell that would be unleashed by the GLOBAL community would be very costly to the cause. ISIS wants to be recognized as a sovereign Sharia state....and they will destroy others in that quest, and I have no doubt that they would support mastermind terrorist organizations and carry out terrorist operations against the United States and others....but I don't know that they'd want to cross a line that would bring about global vengeance. It's better to keep people divided and crush them individually.
Just my thoughts.....

Something is on the way, not sure if it is the "BIG 3", but something is coming.

it appears that pieces are falling into place. there is (really) only 1 big player right not (as it seems that al queda & the taliban have slackened off a bit), but other, smaller, elements are making moves (yemen). i think prognosticators are viewing what happens if/when all these elements finally pull together.
as they have stated, ISIS/ISIL has the goal of reforming the caliphate of pre-WWI days.

I think with Putin playing a role in Ukraine and the strains in Europe and with the US for the same reason, and on the other side, the HATE he harbors for anything Muslim, makes it a difficult situation for anything to happen that will create a sort of them against us, as we know from the past WWs.
It seems it will be regional conflicts in the world, but not the "world at war" ... or let us hope!
