So we all are on the understanding that the centralized boards are going to be conducted every quarter now starting 2020. Now my question for this is, do you think that the individuals that are still waiting on the sequence number to come up from the 2017,2018, and now the 2019 list will be front loaded so that they can start fresh for 2020 quarterly boards? In some MOS's they're still working on the 2017 list. Now I'm not complaining I think its great the new system that is being put into place, but what about the ones still waiting?

How would this play out before the 2020Q are being conducted. In my thoughts it would put the promotion order on hold for a couple of years.

To complicate your question even further, SMA Dailey and the HRC Talent Management SGM (whose name I cannot recall) announced in a live stream interview that there would be no FY20 SFC board. In other words, the board that is currently convening will be the last annual board, and then there will be nothing until FEB 2021, at which time the quarterly boards will begin. For those already selected, you'll continue to be promoted as slots open up. They also claim to be projecting out for future opening to cover the nearly two year gap between June 2019 and Feb 2021. So who knows?

If someone is waiting in a sequence number they were not a selectee? If they were not previously selected they fall into the same pool as everyone else for competition. If I misunderstood and you were selected I apologize. In this case you should remain in the same que as you were before, being selected when the position becomes available. Thank you for your service.

No worries CSM, and yes I was selected on the 2018 list but still waiting. My sequence number is below 40, but HRC is still working on the list from 2017. They have about 26 left from the 2017 list until they start on the 2018 list. But with this new system and the project trend do you think that the individuals selected from the 2017,2018 and 2019 list will be pushed forward so that HRC starts fresh in 2020 with the prior list already extinguished? Thanks for the comment.

SFC (Join to see), my understanding is that there will be no need to push anyone forward. The individuals with a sequence number will remain the ONLY individuals with a "P" status. The top of the OML from new boards will not promote until the 2017, 2018, and 2019 selectees are all promoted in line with available positions. It won't make a difference in timing.

That would be optimal. In past years we always cleaned up the list prior to a policy change. Inquire and send you a note. SFC (Join to see)

Maybe.. all I know is that merit has always been a variable.. it’s just that now with the new system, it’s the only variable.. and I agree with this! Unless your desire to achieve is intrinsically motivated only.. then what’s the insensitive for striving for excellence when the guy or girl next to you is going to get promoted before you anyway by just chilling and watching the clock tick until their number comes up? Just saying! If you’re meeting your career tracker before scheduled and some.. then you need to be recognized for it! I am a huge advocate for this new centralized promotion system.. now we get to find out who’s really a top performer!
