I (re)enlisted so that I could reclass from a 91B to a 46S. I signed the paperwork, did my swear in and received orders to report to Ft. Meade on 2019SEP20.

While I'm in the field I get an email saying that my orders were canceled due to retention. I come to find out that it's because I never completed SSD1. So I proceed to complete SSD1 in order to get the 8K code lifted from my ERB.

I can't talk to the retention NCO because s/he doesn't appreciate that I called him/her on the weekend freaking out about my orders being canceled and my platoon sergeant said I can't speak to her anymore.

The last thing I was told is that I would get my orders back but they'd be for a later class date. 2020JAN20.

I looked at my reenlistment contract and noticed a "RCN:3497534" code in there which makes me want to ask if that code is specific to the class date and time that I'm supposed to take.

I haven't gotten anything in writing or a confirmation of whether or not I'm still going to Ft. Meade it's all just hear say and nothing is in black and white except for my old orders which I've got printed.

Can I get my September orders back? If not will I get my January orders? If I don't get either of these back is it a breach of contract and can I get out of the army by way of a healthy transition?

Another 2-2 Soldier with a retention issue in a week. I'm the Senior Career Counselor for 1-2, you can call me tomorrow if you have questions. I can give you a few broad answers right now.

Your class shouldn't be canceled because of your 8K. SSD doesn't cause a cancelation and even though it's technically a bar, it's one you can PCS with.
RCN means Reclass control number. It's basically the serial of the contact. The number doesn't mean anything other than 3.49 million contracts were written before that one.
"Retention" canceled your school date doesn't mean your career counselor did. Retention branch locked in the school so they have to be the ones who cancel it. They can be canceled for any number of reasons, the most common being a class is cancelled or changed. A lot of classes have been pushed to the next FY because of 7bn in DOD funding being taken for the border wall.
You'll get orders when you are 90 days from your class start date. You can shred the old orders, they're worthless now, and can't be used for anything other than losing your PII. As for seeing, you can ask your schools NCO to pull up ATRRS and look at your active reservations.
If you can't get your requested training back, you'll he allowed to renegotiate for different training or a duty station. If nothing else suits you, you'll be allowed to request to cancel it and revert to your old ETS date and get out. Don't think about canceling your contract and reenlisting for a better option. While you are in the renegotiating process, HRC will go out of your way to support your request as much as possible since you've already reenlisted and the error is no fault of yours. If you cancel your contract and request to reenlist again, you'll be given no special priority. It's not a breach of contract, it's considered an unfilled contract.

Try calling your HRC career manager. They should be able look up your orders in the system and see if they're still valid.
Failing that, call the schoolhouse, they should be able to tell you if you have a valid reservation.
If they have been cancelled, you can request to have them submitted again but there's no guarantees.

I attempted to call HRC and that didn't work. I tried googling around for a school house phone number but that didn't work either. I tried armyreenlistment.com and couldn't find anything. Would you happen to know where I could find that phone number?
