How does the Curtailment process work after it gets to HRC for approval?

Does anyone know how HRC processes Curtailment packets? Specifically how long it takes to find out a decision, how the approval process works, does HRC reach out to the soldier who sent in the request, etc.. Thank you for the input!

Once HRC receives and approves it, your DEROS is adjusted to the requested date and you go forward from there. It usually only takes them a few business days to process it. At least in my personal experience it has and I’ve gone through it twice. Same for FSTEs.

Ok thank you! It was submitted last Thursday, I'm just wandering what the turn around is usually. Did HRC or your branch manager contact you at any point to give you info?

SSG (Join to see) No they didn’t. I just checked my ERB everyday to see when it changed. Every branch manager is different so some might reach out to you as a courtesy to let you know.

The standard time for curtailments is 30-45 days because they are completed in the order it is received. If you receive a response sooner that’s awesome, however they have 30-45 days to complete. Good luck to you....

Hello, My husband put his packet in about 2 weeks ago and his 1SGT said it is approved. They are figuring out the details today, do they wait for HRC for orders? Or does he go to his S1 for orders? What is the process after approval? Thank you so much!!
My husband is in Korea.
