In prior active duty, looking to go back active from the guard. The latest issue I’ve come across is that MEPS is looking for clearance for anxiety and tinnitus, since I have a disability rating for them. In the guard, I’m still required to go through PHA which includes speaking with a healthcare provider and going through a hearing test. Can anyone help me to make sense of needing a “medical clearance” if I’m not on profile and considered fit for duty?

So if you are Green in medpros and have a current physical within the past year and your pulhes is a 1 you will be a no med at meps. Means you will not have to go through medical at meps so you will not have to worry about it. The recruiter should of already told you this. I am currently in the same process and AR 601-210 you can read up on it.

You might have better luck....volunteering for deployments....if you fail the clearance...the NG...could give you the boot.... I've seen it....

Probably just have to get a waiver for them. The tinnitus I wouldn’t think would be a problem, not sure about the anxiety. I do believe you will have to do something to have the disability stopped from the VA as I think I’ve read this here before from other folks who have ratings from prior service and are trying to join again.
Probably will be one of those things where you’ll just have to go to MEPS, do everything, then be sent to a specialist for evaluation, submit for medical waivers if they think the can get them and then play the waiting game.
