Since I'm considering attending ARC and CLC, should I attend CLC first if given the chance? Does it matter ?

I’m a SSG promotable and down at benning now and am going to try and take advantage and attend a few schools I haven’t been to. Was thinking ARC and CLC for sure for but should I attend CLC first if given the chance ? Does it matter ?

If you're in Benning there's only a few courses that matter. In order they go:
1. RANGER School
2. Airborne School
3. Jumpmaster
4. Pathfinder
Seriously, you can't be an Airborne Ranger without the first two.

Go to ARC to get 'up to speed', then wait about 6 months and apply for CLC.
However you probably need to get tightened up on the commander's tasks before you go to CLC. Its designed for Commanders., not NCOs, though I've saw MSGs and CSMs attend.

I’ve had many friends go as SFC’s and a couple even SSG(P). Though they all said it was primarily officers, they had a few other enlisted in class. From what I gather from what they said about it me already having battle staff and Staff time on top I would have a decent understanding of the course work. Hopefully this is the case.

SFC (Join to see) - That's good to know. I was an ARC Instructor from its inception at Fort Knox and after it moved to Fort Benning in 2011. Prior I was Primary Instructor for SLC (Scout leaders Course) immediately after it switched from the older SPLC (Scout Platoon Leaders Course).
Before I took a contract overseas in 2011, the Cavalry Leaders Course might have taken a LT(P) or a SFC(P), but with Battle Staff experience however 2LTs and SSGs definitely weren't considered.
I wish you best of Luck and study hard both prior and during (and afterwards too).
