Can commanders waive a profile to deploy Soldiers who are non-deployable?

Commanders have almost unstoppable power. But they also have to answer for their decisions.

In most cases, a Company Commander who wants to deploy a medical profile will justify his decision to a BN Commander who will approve or deny. Then the BN CDR will brief the BDE CDR in a more general format. BDE CDR can still veto, of course.

Often BN and BDE CDRs will look at the profile itself and/or get counsel from their medical rep in their decision making process. But at the end of the day, the Commander COMMANDS.

From personal experience, they can totally deploy a non-deployable soldier. Happened to me last July... It aggravated my medical issues and now I'm medboarding.

Almost certain a Commander alone cannot waive a medical profile deeming a soldier non-deployable. They can however make strong recommendations. In my experience I don’t know many commanders that would want to do this simply because of the risk vs gain factor.
