Jordan king cites Clint Eastwood film as model for Islamic State fight

In particular, King Abdullah apparently said he would deal with IS in the way Eastwood’s character acts in “Unforgiven.” At one point Eastwood's character says, “Any man I see out there, I’m gonna kill him. Any [expletive] takes a shot at me, I’m not only going to kill him, I’m going to kill his wife and all his friends and burn his damn house down.”
King Abdullah told US lawmakers that Jordan would intensify its participation in a US-led air campaign against IS.
“The only problem we’re going to have is running out of fuel and bullets,” he said, according to the Examiner.

“The only problem we’re going to have is running out of fuel and bullets,” that quote says it all. I'd fight alongside him. In 2010 we had a Jordanian VBSS team embarked on USS CARNEY for training. They are engaging and consumate professional warriors, it is heartening to see this kind of leadership all the way at the top of their COC.

Doesn't surprise me that King Abdullah is saying "fighting words." People don't realize that before he became king, he was the commander of the Jordanian Special Forces (and a fully qualified operator, not just a pampered prince figurehead). He's a dyed in the wool warrior.

I think he's setting ISIS up for a game of "Don't f#$%^ with Jordan or Jordanian people. Just pretend they don't exist."

I think Jordan was on the list of countries that the Daesh wanted to expand to however the burning of the pilot was a severe mistake. It is one thig to have the leader and the military going after the terrorists but this galvanized the people and specifically the tribe which this pilot belonged. Since our current posture is to lead from behind, I hope we boost up the support to Jordan.

SSG Norman Lihou I concur. ISIS probably thought "easy pickings" and just ended up with more than they could chew. Combine that with our long standing good relationship, King A, probably just set the stage for something really impressive.
