I have a question as to what do typically 68W go for further education?
Can we go for some certifications ? If yes what do we have available?
What are the future prospects with DHA is this MOS going to be shutdown?
How are folks planning future related to 68W since its not a specialised MOS right.
Any college degrees people have been pursuing, i understand it differs from state to state.

Your MOS absolutely is not shutting down. I don't know why people think DHA has control over the branches of service, but as long as there is combat arms, there will be combat medics.
You study whatever interests you. It doesn't matter what stare you're in, as an active duty service member you get the in state tuition rate for any school.
You can get certifications, there are too many to list.
Just start your degree immediately. Take a year to get a feel for the different fields and to see if you even like medicine. Then decide from there.

As far as the future of 68W it was recently published and briefed that the majority of 68W will be assigned to FORSCOM units...FORSCOM has requested over 15000 medical assets be realigned under them..they plan on added more CMEDs and AREA SUPPORT MEDICAL COMPANIES and others..by 2024 the goal is that only 250 68W will be assigned to MTF ( hospitals) total.
As far as certifications and school your 1st line should be able to adress schools

Thank you very much for the information 1SG, so eventually everybody would be moving over to FORSCOM.
Question if you go over to the line side, there arent too many medic openings, per platoon at max they have like couple of them. So per company of over 100 folks there might be like 4-5 medics atleast thats what i have seen. Is this going to change where the number of medics per platoon and per company would change?

SPC (Join to see) typically a Battallion or Squadron has a 40 medic platoon a DIVISION has 3 or 4 Battallion so multiply 40 times that....then u also have your medical bridges etcetera...there will be plenty of opportunity for medics to grow and promote
