What are your thoughts on veterans wearing their service uniforms (ASU's) to formal events such as a wedding?

I want to wear my ASU's to my sister's wedding but I am not sure if it is allowed in that situation. I know it is allowed when you are in active duty and as long as it is in accordance with AR 670-1 but I am not sure if it applies to veterans in the same way.

The occasion (wedding, funeral, ...) is permitted, provided you display honor and respect for yourself, your service, and your uniform. While wearing your uniform at a function of this type you need to carry yourself with the same demeanor you embraced while on AD. It is not to show off, but to display the honor of your service. Wear it proudly, watch your behavior, do not engage in any behavior that would disgrace the uniform or your service and you should be fine.

I always put it this way: No one can tell me not to and never has due to the fact I always then handle myself as a soldier. Even wore it to the Marine Birtday Balls. At almost 50 years old I no longer wear it...outdated uniforms are not welcome in official events. In the end you are a vet, no one will mess with you, if they do it is probably due to jelousy, and you can deal wiyh that.
