I never received or signed for the new Army OCP uniforms. Will I have to pay out of pocket or will I get it as initial issue?

Are you going from Reserves to Active Duty? If that is the case, the first couple of paychecks that have Clothing Allowance in them, you can go purchase (if you aren't issued them by your unit) them. The Mandatory Possession date is 1 October 2019. So don't worry too much as you still have some time.

SGT Shantese McBride - Again, don't stress. You have just under a hair over 6 months to ensure you have the OCPs. You're good with the ACU pattern until then. When you get to your assignment, just buy them pieces at a time until you have 4 full sets with all the trimmings.

SGT Shantese McBride - Always protect yourself and be sure you are current. I was a pest in garrison but always had my shit straight Don't ever let the cost of a uniform be the reason you are singled out.

I remember a recent JCOS head who failed to clear CIF. Or as President Reagan would say "Trust, but verify."

Technically, you're supposed to retain all your old issue until your MSO end date. However, you may get an initial issue memo coming from a break in service, as I did.

SGT Bryan O'Reilly or someone who has served through several pattern changes. Buying uniforms is part of the job. I came in when we had greens and BDUs
