If you see someone who is taking on too much what do you do?

Does it matter if they outrank you (ie. are your boss) or if they are your subordinate?

I made it a habit to ask my 1SG or CDR at least once a week "Give me something to take off your plate." Sometimes, I really regretted it. But for the most part, I believe it puts the head shed at ease to know that their subordinates had their back. Every once and a while, they would find me on the flight line and ask the same. Imagine a Captain and 1SG asking that and coming down the back fire escape of the hangar to run out and help push aircraft to the flight pads! We had a great work ethic as a unit and worked and fought as a family. My commander is the one who nicknamed me Uncle Mark. Top's nicknames were not as flattering....lol. Old School, Baby!
