Attached link from The Blaze shows a guy in Panama getting shot in the head while at a fast food restaurant. While disturbing, what really bothers me is that his buddy who is facing the door had no idea what was going on.
Please if you guys are traveling abroad, or even here in the US, keep your head on a swivel. People are being attacked for no reason everywhere. Stay safe.

Brutal video, MSgt Chris Adams, but it's a brutal world. Your advice is spot on: ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. You never know when someone is going to go postal. I also take from the story that if you're from Holland, you might want to stay away from Panama.
