I'm getting a chapter 13. (Pt failure) and I've already did cif, just waived to talk to attorney because my unit requesting a get an honorable discharge. Don't see a reason to fight that... my next step will be to transition when legal is done with everything. My question is will I be able to take leave? Because I'm trying to take 29 days and i have 45.5. My Commander keeps saying he doesn't know. (Because he apparently doesn't know something, he won't approve it).... I'm just trying to see if I apply for terminal leave are what do I do... I'm honestly confused and would like some guidance.

Good Question. If you don't get to take leave, then they will pay you the balance of your leave. Your unit commander does not have all that much control over your separation date. I would make sure your chain knows your desires, but it very well be out of their control. Good Luck

When the chapter is approved, transition will give you an ETS date. You can take as much as you can fit in there. As long as you're receiving an honorable discharge you are entitled to take leave. Your transition section usually has a list with the breakdown of what you're entitled to by discharge type. Honestly, this is a question that should be easy to answer by your S1
