Reporting to Ft Lee in two weeks for AIT. Can anyone give me insight on 27D school, what it’s like being an NCO MOS-T, what should I know and how should I go about “picking” first duty station as a 27D?

As finishing AIT last year, expect early PT, formation (usually 5:10), the Drill Sergeants are some of the best but will treat some of the MOS T as privates if they feel disrespected or treated in a different way, expect for the IET soldiers to be very curious and ask you questions or act like kids, and the instructors are INCREDIBLY skilled, they're selected by the JAG itself, all rewarding at the end

On the learning, open note test , typical, but PAY ATTENTION, a lot of detail will be taught, make sure you study but don't beat yourself up over it , fail a test 2 times, you either get reclassed, dismissed or recycled , nobody had anything like that happen to my class but it does happen

And for the duty station, atleast 7-8 of the 30ish in the class go to Korea, unsure where else but a lot of my buddies are over there now

In 91B our NCO MOS-T students get treated as NCO’s and don’t play the games with the IET soldiers

They’ll give you a “wish list” which isn’t taken into consideration unless you’re crazy enough to ask for some place like Ft. Polk. Richmond is nice if you have a vehicle. You can always ask one one of the instructors or 1SG about contacting branch. A lot of E8 27D’s will know the branch managers personally since there are only like two of them.
