Can I reclassify after a recent reenlistment? If so, when can I reclassify?

I recently reenlisted as 91B, less than a year ago, and am thinking about reclassifying to 68C. 68C for SGT is on the in/out call shortage Y and 91B SGT is at Netrual N. When am I able to reclass?

You are not eligible to reclass into 68c. That MOS only accepts non promotable E4 and below. The only way around the grade requirement is to contact the MOs proponent and ask for a grade waiver. Unless you have some medical experience you are not likely to receive one as a non-medical MOS e5

Did not know that. Thank you for that insight. Is there an AR or Milper message out there I can read up on, to see what medical Corp MOS I can reclass too? I was hoping to do 68c or 68w.

SSG (Join to see) there is no reg, the prerequisites are set by each MOS propenent. You can see the prerequisites on the ATRRS course catalog. The only medical MOS that accepts E5 is 68V. But if you're interested in nursing I suggest applying to the nursing AECP. You graduate nursing school as an RN and commission after. It requires 60 SH at the minimum to apply. You can find it on the USAREC website.

Usually, you need to be in the MOS for 12 months before you request reclassification. Outside the reenlistment window reclassification is possible, but you must follow some specific guidelines, you need to visit your BN Career Counselor to get more information.

I’ve been a 91B for 5 years now, but want to go into the medical field. Thank you for your advice. I will visit my career counselor.
