I just need some direction on getting the LORs for a WOFT packet that I would like to submit in May. I am an active duty soldier on Ft Bragg. (11B305W) I have a few contacts in the NG world but was wondering if it is better to have an active duty CW4-5 write the LOR. Thank you so much in advance.

I was at Bragg when I put my packet together. Just got to Simmons AAF and walk into one of the companies and ask to talk to one of the Senior Warrants. I talked to the guys at Charlie Med and they were super helpful.

Awesome! Thank you, sir! How long after the board did you leave for school?

So I was selected May 2017 and left for WOCS in September. Things have gotten a little backed up here now so it could be a bit longer.

This is pretty solid advice, as long as your Senior Warrant LOR is the last item you need, most anybody will be willing to set you up with a CW4 or CW5, just go ask.

If they know you and can write you a letter it is better than trying to jus find one. It does not matter what between the two branches.

Thank you 1SG! My packet is close to being all filled out and checked by the recruiters on Ft. Bragg!

If you personally know one of the recommending WOs, go for that one rather than someone that 'interviewed' you. The board AARs showed that a Sr. WO that served and interacted with the Soldier had more weight than a CW5 that interviewed them.

For those MOSs where CW5's are scarce or the Soldier just didnt have an echelon with a Sr. WO available, there was more leniency.
