I am PCSing to FLW next month. My husband is a recruiter in Illinois and that is the absolute closest Branch would get me. I called the housing office in FLW and was told that they had built geobach barracks. Lucky me..... when my husband moved to Illinois, he took nothing with him so I have all of our household goods in my possession, which, is 3 bedrooms and 2 bathroom worth of belongings, not including common areas and kitchen. I've already checked to see if there are any climate controlled storage units up there and there are none. I also have our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I plan on submitting an Exception to Policy once I am in-processed into my gaining unit. I just don't know what I should be writing on this memorandum. It's likely to not get approved but it's worth a shot. Any advice?

Do a search on here. There was a similar question yesterday or today, and an NCO shared a message covering this issue. If, I can find it, and link, I will.

SSG (Join to see) I found the message, but it referenced "voluntary" geographic bachelors. You may be able to get a waiver from your command, and you should also check with travel/trans on the rules about storage of HHG.

Here is the message, it is not voluntary. If you are married you will not live in the barracks. This link is your source document to provide to your finance office in the event they give you a hard time about it, so you should not have to request a waiver. Feel free to inbox me if you have any questions or concerns...
