Currently looking to start training towards Civil Affairs or either Special Forces. My PT is already pretty good, and i work out every day so its constantly improving, I just wanted information on the difference in training, the physical requirements during training, if there is certain body parts i need to focus on working out, and if i need a little extra body fat or a little less body fat before going (Im currently 13% body fat). Any help and advice would be great.
PS: Im a great runner, and Great at rucking. Im the most positive person i know that stays constantly motivated, and if id have to say so myself im a great leader. I just want to know the difference between physically training between the two and if anyone knows a good PRT plan to get ready for either one.

If you want to challenge yourself-try out for SF and go to SFAS. All you need to know is in the “The Ballad of the Green Berets” - 100 men will test today, but only 3 become Green Berets!

Here’s what you saw SGT (Join to see). Barry Sadler debuted “The Ballad of the Green Berets” on the nationally televised Ed Sullivan Show of January 30, 1966. This photo is from the show! I was in my junior year of high school in Jacksonville, FL.

LTC Stephen C. - Not this one, it was in Black and white, or we just didn't have a color TV.
I memorized the song, and always sung it in my mind, it was good to hear it in John Wayne's movie, The Green Beret".

This is a photo from that show, SGT (Join to see). No color TV at your house? Didn’t have one at our house either!

LTC Stephen C. - No color, but The Lone Ranger still looked good in black and white. Lol

SGT Kevin Berman - I have a 100 mile run for life too from the 82nd. ABN, but the certificate was damaged in a typhoon in the 70's.

No experience in Civil Affairs, but what helped me through SFAS was running, rucking and lots of pushups and pull/chin ups. Little extra fat would probably help, I think I lost around 15 pounds. If you are physically fit that is half the battle - other half is state of mind - you are going to hurt, tired, etc, just have to be able to push through it.
As SGM stated, if you want a challenge, go with SF.
Best of luck.

PFC (Join to see) - I'd also find someone that has gone through recently, I know it has changed since I went through in '89. :)

I would say if you are bad at languages don't try SF! What Sgt Berman said is very important too. I lost 22 lbs in the Q course. Find a private language instructor and see how you do with languages it will help you decide if you are up to that part of the job.
