In a company element, what is generally the working relationship between company grade commission officers and warrant officers?

Depends on type of unit. In most units the Real Live Officers (RLOs) look to the Warrants for advice and guidance.

This is exactly what I look to warrant officers for. I look at them as experts in their field and it's best to listen to what they're advising.

CW5 Jack Cardwell you've been Warrant since 91!!! What different roles did you play during your career and how were you utilized and included in the planning and training processes?

It entirely depends on the unit. In an aviation unit, no one really cares about the distinction between officer and warrant officer in general. Even enlisted. Not one cares if they are a professional and take their jobs seriously.
For ground units, WOs are gods. And dickheads. They are better than you. You will bow to them.

A smart commissioned officer would rather sand paper a wildcat’s ass in a phone booth than screw with a warrant officer. The phrase, “Stay in your lane bro.” applies.

Could be the fact that even most WO1s have more experience and tactical and technical knowledge than many field grades.
