My question is do i get a say through retention or the infantry branch managers on where my next orders are if I waive my stabilization? Is there a possibility they will just give me orders somewhere and i wont have a say ? Just trying to see if it's really worth waiving my stabilization and being sent somewhere I do not want to go. I've been at fort bliss for 3 years so i did the required time already and want to waive my stabilization to go elsewhere. I have 2 and a 1/2 years left in my contract and would like to get orders to Carson or Germany.

No you don't. Usually your memo states that you understand you are at the needs of the Army once you waive stabilization. Technically it doesn't have to say that but it still applies.
The best way to approach it is ask your branch if they'll move you and then waive stability.

Great answer and a great way to manage anything in life. Don’t go waiving anything unless you know what/were it puts you as far and the next move.
