My platoon was on a mission in 2017-2018 in turkey for a couple of months very much past the specific longitude line into the designated combat zone. It took us about a year to receive our GWOTEM from our unit. While there we received the IDP/HDP, tax exclusion, carried our live rounds and such but saw no actual combat. I've read the regulation but no one is entirely sure.

So I got confirmation the 173rd approved combat patches for this deployment. Has anyone been able to contact their S1 or HRC to get approval now that this is officially a thing?

I’ve had multiple people tell me it was authorized, but also had people say the exact opposite. I was there a few years back with one of my old Platoons also. I recently saw some of the 2-503rd guys get patches for being on the same deployment though. Just didn’t know if it meant everyone that’s been there could wear one or not.

Did you ever get any updates on if it was officially approved?

Has anyone figured this out? I deployed there twice between 2014-2015 and had to fight to get a GOTEM.

11th MDB is authorized them. Army G1 said that an exception to policy can be granted by the first GO in your chain of command.

That's what I gathered from the reg aswell. To clarify, you're stating that an ETP from the 1GO would allow an SM to rock their home station MOHC instead of the one listed in the photo, correct? And that this memo grants the ticket to ride, so to speak.
