So I was just told that a reserve unit is willing to take me down at Ft Detrick. I’m just curious as to what goes on there? Whats the base known for and what am I most likely gonna be doing as a 25B reservist.

The base is known for medical units. But it’s also unique as it houses units from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. As well as several federal agencies. You will most likely be working at USAISEC (US Army Information Systems Engineering Command).

I was once in a reserve unit at Ft Detrick, as a 25B, 392 ESB. member of the 335th Signal Command. Drill weekends are very slow, laid back and boring. you either drill at Detrick for APFT, admin ect, or carpool down to Ft Pickett. Being an ESB, there is opportunity for deployment, however. I know they just got back last year from Afghan.

What ever other 25B does....surf the web, shoot the shit in the back room - then quick look busy if someone comes around.
