Check these folks out who truly gamed the system!

Anyone use the Referral Bonus Program between 2006-09 and get paid for it?

I'm confused. Did rent break any laws? Or are we just angry that they took advantage of a foiled system like senators and congressmen always do.

MSG (Join to see), as far as I read, no laws were broken, but I am upset that a former Soldier, and leader (in this case a NCO) purposefully created an official looking website in order to get folks already interested in joining the Army to sign up for personal gain. I am also upset that the Army allowed this to happen and had no checks and balances in place to realize that one individual/couple was referring so many and getting paid so much.
Yes the system was flawed, but so were the ethics of the Agostos.

I never received a bonus, LTC (Join to see), but I know people who did. And I know of other programs that offered bonuses (for those already in the Army, in this case) to volunteer for certain programs. These folks (in the article) took it to the next level and gamed the system like nobody's business. And it looks like they'll get away with it. Classic.

Join nearly 2 million former and current members of the US military, just like you.
