9,735 captains face an OSB. 699 face an eSERB YG 06,07&08. Do you think YG09,10&11 will be going through the same boards next year?

Sir,
To put it bluntly, yes, until the environment of the current administration and Congress changes within the next few years, it is only going to get worse before it gets better and settles down. The other issue is going to be the same problem that happened under Clinton, they realize after the fact the let too many or put too many people out and had to rebuild the forces again at the end of the last century and into the new millennium.
Good luck and keep the faith.

Sean,
Yes they are going to conduct these boards every year till they get to the FY13 year group. Someone was kind enough to post a presentation that had timelines and the cut line, if I find it I will let you know. YG 09 and 10 are up next. We should be going through a board next spring.

09 makes sense, but why would 10 be next? I can see 07-10 and then 08-11 futurewise. A lot of your FY10 just made CPT.

I don't think so. YG09 and YG10 had "normal" selection rates to Captain, similar to pre-9/11 numbers. Whereas YG06-08 had record highs of 99.9% compared to the normal 90% that Title 10 requires. They started weeding out YG09-10 early. They are doing the same with YG05 who will only get one look at Major this year. I think we were the first to be "normalized". I know my Year group and branch (AMEDD, MSC) had a 72% selection rate last year....

The selection rate for CPT for FY11 was 86 percent. In the slides someone posted above, they will use the boards until the number normalize. If people decide to get out, that will reduce the amount of people that have to forced out.
