RP Calendar of Events module, or forum by location?

Maybe I just havent found it, but is there a way we can chat specifically with people in our geographic location other than individual private message? What about a calendar where we can post community event announcements? If there currently isn't a way to do this, is it possible that it may be added in the future?

So... RP, this still hasn't been addressed. And apparently I ticked someone off by posting a networking event as a discussion because that thread has vanished into thin air. *poof*
So please enlighten me.... how/when can we communicate community events on here? I mean, isn't this board for networking? If there's another place that I'm supposed to post it, I will be happy to do so, but I'm not sure where that is. IF my thread was just deleted because it was deemed inappropriate, it sure would be nice to be given an explanation why.....
