Hey everyone I just wanted to ask about the likelihood of being cleared to deploy after a surgery. I have to get a surgery to fix GERD and a hernia. Provided the surgery goes well can I deploy again? Or will their be permanent limitation? Thanks everyone!

I’m sure it depends on the surgery.

If there are no complications from the surgery, there should be no reason that you wouldn't be able to deploy after your recovery. Best of luck.

I'm guessing because you said GERD and hernia that you're having a hiatal hernia repair? If you are cleared by your surgeon/PCP, then you should have no permanent limitations/profiles. If you have an epigastric, umbilical, or inguinal hernia, then you may be on a temporary profile a bit longer. I believe most providers let you return to abdominal workouts as soon as you can complete them without pain (6-10 weeks depending on size/severity/complications/etc.).
